With a network of offices around Australia, the Maintenance and Industrial Services division has the capability to service long term contracts as well as to mobilise quickly and efficiently for more specialist services. Workshops strategically located throughout regional Australia are able to provide robust, expert support to major projects and contracts.

Monadelphous’ Maintenance and Industrial Services division has a highly regarded reputation for outstanding customer service and a demonstrated history of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

Most clients define their maintenance strategies for their plants requirements. Routine maintenance is usually performed by the client, however tasks requiring specialist skills or additional labour and supervision are outsourced.

Monadelphous provides the services required to keep a plant fully maintained and operational. This includes services such as preplanning, procurement, scaffolding, rigging, welding and fitting. Niche services such as dragline and shovel shutdown and maintenance are overseen by its wholly owned subsidiary Ellavale Engineering.

The Maintenance and Industrial Services division performs minor plant upgrades where the client has identified a need to improve safety or increase plant performance. This includes all aspects of the project, from constructability through to commissioning and handover.

Major plant outages and shutdowns are a crucial activity for most operations.

Monadelphous has an excellent record in performing shutdowns, including the complete dismantling of major plant items, such as turbines or furnaces, through to recommissioning.

A major factor in its success is minimising the duration of the shutdown. Monadelphous collaborates with each customer in the preplanning stages, prior to taking the plant out of service, to ensure a successful conclusion to each shutdown.

Monadelphous has experienced, qualified shutdown managers and all associated resources to bring the plant back into operation safely, on time and within budget.

The division provides dragline and faceshovel shutdown and maintenance services offering the specialist knowledge, systems and equipment required to service coal mine infrastructure and mobile equipment.

To provide a total maintenance solution to the growing coal market Monadelphous acquired a Hunter Valley based dragline and shovel shutdown specialist company, Ellavale Engineering, in March 2007. Ellavale Engineering has been fully integrated into the Maintenance and Industrial Services division and in August 2008 was re-branded, now operating under the Monadelphous name.

The Maintenance and Industrial Services division provides multidisciplinary services, including the provision of specialist electrical and instrumentation services. The division is supported by its wholly owned subsidiary MIE, which operates across Australia, the Pacific Rim, Asia and the Middle East.

Regular checks of concrete structures should be a part of any ongoing maintenance program. Too often it is only the plant and equipment that is checked and the concrete structure surrounding it is forgotten. Structural deterioration can have life threatening implications and affect a structure’s integrity. Monadelphous provides specialist services in the area of concrete remediation, specialist coatings, grout repair, joint repair and waterproofing as well as concrete integrity surveys.

Monadelphous Workforce is a specialist supplier of engineering, trades and semiskilled personnel to industries across Australia. With a database of over 30,000 personnel, Workforce is well equipped to supply labour for a wide variety of projects and contracts. Health and Safety is a top priority for Workforce, with individuals undergoing rigorous safety education and induction courses prior to mobilising to work sites.

Monadelphous has one of the largest fleets of mobile equipment available in Australia. The range of equipment includes 20 tonne to 350 tonne cranes, site vehicles, elevated work platforms and mobile welding equipment. The availability of these assets on a long hire basis allows Monadelphous, through its buying power, to offer customers unparalleled project support.
