Incitec Pivot: Gibson Island Shutdown, Gibson Island QLD

  • Use of national network to provide 350 personnel
  • Contract model with agreed key performance indicators

Incitec Pivot (Incitec) is an Australian owned fertiliser manufacturer with facilities in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales. With annual sales of approximately $1 billion, Incitec is the largest supplier of fertilisers in Australia.

Commencing in December 2004, Monadelphous formed an alliance with Incitec Pivot at Gibson Island (Brisbane) for its March 2007 Shutdown. Together the companies developed a contract model with an agreed set of key performance indicators that enabled all risks to be managed and added significant value to the alliance.

This contract presents an outstanding opportunity for Monadelphous as it involves the overall management of the shutdown, including the management of around 40 sub-contractors. Through its national network, Monadelphous will provide in excess of 350 personnel and the involvement of experienced Monadelphous supervisors and safety personnel will be critical to the success of the shutdown.

Strategically this contract is important, as it demonstrates the strength and depth of the Monadelphous Maintenance and Industrial Services Division in Eastern Australia.
