Central Queensland Ports Authority: Fabrication from Gladstone Regional Operation, Gladstone QLD

  • Two major shutdowns completed on time and LTI free
  • Multiple contracts involving all disciplines of Monadelphous’ service

The Gladstone Monadelphous team has previously worked with the Central Queensland Ports Authority (CQPA) for minor maintenance and shutdowns. This contract, “Stream 1 and Stream 2 Conveyor Upgrade” involved two major shutdowns, each shut was 10 days in length requiring 150 additional personnel, most of which were recruited locally. Both shutdowns were successfully completed on time and LTI free.

The contract also involved the Upgrade of Outload Conveyors, included supply, fabrication (of conveyor systems by Gladstone regional operations) and installation of civil, mechanical, structural and electrical equipment. The Gladstone Operations and MIE Electrical & Instrumentation Services tendered this package jointly.

Having the multi-disciplinary capability to undertake the works was a key factor in our success to secure this contract for Monadelphous. The Engineering Construction division was also involved on this site with the construction of the Rail Receival Station Number 3.

The project started in September 2005 and was completed in February 2006.
