BHP Billiton: Area C, Western Australia

The BHP Billiton Iron Ore Area C mine is located about 130 km north west of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. In March 2004, Monadelphous completed a 16 month-long, multi-disciplinary project to construct and pre-commission the structural, mechanical and electrical elements of the primary and secondary crushing, screening, sampling, conveying and train load out components of the ore handling plant.

The project was completed on schedule, on budget, with an excellent health and safety record and to the client’s satisfaction.
